How to Make a Perfume Box: A Practical Guide
Every perfume box starts with a bottle and ends with a foil press. The order of those steps decides whether the pack works.
Step one is the bottle, not the artwork
Send a physical bottle. The cavity is cut to the real profile, holding the base and the shoulder, which is where glass fails. A drawing gives nominal dimensions; a bottle gives the actual ones.
Specify the board for the filled weight
Fragrance bottles are dense for their size. 2mm grey board laminated with art paper is our standard reference build for a single bottle box, adjusted up for heavier formats.
Choose the closure by how it will be sold
A magnetic box suits e-commerce and shelf. A book-shaped box suits sets with samples. A double door box works as its own counter display. The choice is a retail decision with a structural consequence.
Finish in one pass where you can
Foil stamping, embossing and spot UV are applied to the flat sheet before shaping. Combining them in one pass keeps registration tight and controls cost better than adding processes later.
Confirm colour on a physical sample
Pantone references on screen are a starting point. Approve colour on the pre-production sample under the lighting the product will be sold in.
Allow the real timeline
5 to 7 days for the sample after payment and artwork confirmation, then 20 to 25 days for mass production. Artwork rounds happen before that clock starts.
