Oscillating and Sonic Toothbrush Platforms Compared
Two different motors, two different price positions, and one decision that affects your refill business for years.

Oscillating rotation
An oscillating brush turns a small round head back and forth. The mechanism is mature and inexpensive, the head is small, and the platform scales down cleanly to a battery-operated version with no charge base - which is how our TB-01 reaches a promotional and travel-retail price point.
Sonic vibration
A sonic brush vibrates a longer head at high frequency. There is no rotation, the head shape is closer to a manual brush, and the perceived quality is higher, which is why premium retail ranges are built on sonic platforms.
The decision that actually matters
The motor is a product decision. The brush-head interface is a business decision. If your entry model and your premium model take different heads, you carry two refill SKUs, split your refill inventory and halve the value of each shelf facing. We keep one brush-head interface across the oscillating family and one across the sonic pair for exactly this reason.
Battery or rechargeable
A battery-operated model removes the charge base, the charging circuit and a large part of the packed cube. For hotel amenity, travel retail and gift programmes that is usually the right answer. For daily-use retail, rechargeable is expected.
