Why the Implement List Matters More Than the Carrier

A two wheel tractor is a power unit with a hitch. On its own it does nothing. Its value to a grower is the number of jobs it covers across a year, which is entirely a function of what can be fitted to it. A dealer selling a carrier without a matched implement programme is selling an expensive single purpose machine.

Flail Mowers and Sickle Bar Mowers

A flail mower shreds material and drops it, which suits rough vegetation, stubble and orchard floors where the residue should stay put and break down. A heavy duty sickle bar mower cuts rather than shreds and articulates to follow the terrain, which suits close work under fences, on steep slopes and against obstacles. They are not interchangeable.

Where the finish matters more than the volume of material, a rotary lawn mower on a carrier gives a cut a flail cannot, over areas larger than a pedestrian mower can sensibly handle.
