Comparison
Against 32 mm, the 40 mm bore is the difference between a cable that pulls and a cable that jams. Against steel conduit it is lighter, will not corrode and needs no bonding, at the cost of lower mechanical strength where impact is severe.
Use Guide
- Plan support centres for the loaded weight of large cable, not for the empty pipe
- Form long radius bends over a 40 mm spring; tight corners are better made with a fitting at this size
- Use a winch or draw tape for long heavy pulls and lubricate where the run has several bends
- Keep expansion in mind on long straight external runs

It resists acids, bases and salts, needs no bonding and is far lighter to install, which is decisive on long runs.
Can it be buried?
The compound is resistant to compression and impact and is suitable for being buried in concrete; use the rigid grade and cap the ends.
