Against 25x16 mm it doubles the usable channel for a modest increase in price per metre. Against compartment trunking it is cheaper but keeps all services in one channel, which some specifications will not accept.

- Fix at closer centres than a small profile so a loaded cover stays flush
- Cut with a fine tooth saw and clean the edge before joining
- Use matching angles at corners rather than forcing a mitre on a wide cover
- Load the cable before snapping the cover on, working from one end
