The Microlab OEM division exists because most filter brands do not want to own a mould shop. It covers four things: OEM plastic devices, OEM contract manufacturing, membrane die-cut and packing, and filter engineering and manufacturing. An in-house mould making team means a housing change is a tooling decision rather than a supplier search.
The problem. A brand knows the performance it needs but not which membrane and housing combination delivers it at the target cost.
How we handle it. The specification is worked back from the application: membrane chemistry first, then pore size, then housing geometry and packing format.
The problem. A custom housing usually means finding a mould shop, then finding an assembler, then hoping the two agree.
How we handle it. Mould making sits in-house with the OEM division, so the housing and the assembly are specified by the same team.
The problem. Membrane bought in roll form has to be cut to disc size without contaminating or creasing the material.
How we handle it. Membrane die-cut and packing is a standing service line, run for our own ranges and for OEM customers on the same equipment.
The problem. Solvent-bonded housings put adhesive in the flow path and cap the pressure rating.
How we handle it. Housings across the syringe filter ranges are sealed by injection moulding, which is what supports the 6 bar at 23 C rating on the Easyfil range.
The problem. An unbranded filter in a plain bag gives the buyer nothing to reorder against.
How we handle it. Colour coding and part number printing go onto the housing, with private-label packing to the customer's own artwork.
The problem. A consumable that changes between orders forces the customer to re-check the method.
How we handle it. Products are made under the ISO 9001 standard system, and part numbers are printed on the part so a reorder can be matched to the qualified batch.
