How do we shortlist a grade?
Start from the HLB the oil phase needs, then check the published cloud point against your highest process temperature. Two neighbouring grades can be blended to hit an intermediate HLB.
What replaces a nonylphenol ethoxylate?
The AEO fatty alcohol series covers similar HLB ground on a fatty alcohol backbone, and FMEE offers lower foam for industrial cleaning.
Which grade foams least?
FMEE. It is low foaming with fast defoaming, which is why it is written for industrial and hard surface cleaning.
