How To Read This List

Each row gives an additive function, a QK model number and the commercial grade that QK model was designed against. Where the right-hand column is blank, no corresponding grade is published, and nothing has been filled in on the manufacturer's behalf. A cross-reference is a starting point for a trial, not a claim of equivalence: two products with the same function can differ in active content, carrier and pH, all of which change the dosage arithmetic.

What The Functions Mean

Dispersion grades wet and stabilise pigment, which sets grind time, mill base viscosity and colour strength. Wetting grades lower surface tension so the film wets the substrate. Defoamers knock down or suppress foam. Levelling agents govern flow and gloss. Rheological agents and thickeners control settling, sag and application viscosity. Orienting agents lay effect pigment flat.

Fourteen of the sixty-nine have complete published data on this site, covering the dispersion, wetting, defoaming, levelling and rheology families. The remaining grades, including the whole QKPUR thickener series, are available on request by email.
