Solution
Sites with no grid connection, or with a supply too weak and too expensive to run a pump on, still need water for irrigation, livestock and domestic supply.
A PV array, a pump and a KEWO solar pump inverter. The DC generated by the solar modules goes straight into the inverter and is converted to AC to drive the pump. Output frequency follows sunlight intensity in real time through MPPT, so no battery bank is needed — water is stored in a tower or tank instead of electricity.

Fans, pumps and compressors that run direct on line at full speed waste energy whenever the process does not need full flow, and start with high inrush current that stresses the motor and the supply.
Fitting a vector control AC drive lets the motor follow the actual process demand. For machines with permanent magnet motors the AD800S drives PMSM directly for a further gain, and where speed control is not needed a soft starter removes the starting shock on its own.

A PWM drive puts a fast rising voltage edge on the motor cable. Over long runs this stresses the winding insulation and radiates interference that upsets nearby instrumentation, and the installation may still have to meet EMC limits.
EMC input and output filters suppress conducted and radiated interference from 100 kHz to 30 MHz. A dv/dt filter limits the rate of rise at the motor terminals, and a sine wave filter turns the PWM output into a near sine wave for the longest runs. AC and DC reactors reduce harmonics back onto the supply.
