Standard Profile Questions
Which ratings are available in the standard profile?
We list the U40B at 40 kN with 190 mm creepage and 11 coupling, and the U70BS at 70 kN with 320 mm creepage and 16 coupling. Other ratings up to 550 kN are available on a project basis.
Is a standard profile safe in mild coastal air?
Only where deposit is genuinely light. Once a conductive film forms regularly, the 320 mm creepage of the U70BS is the limiting factor and an anti-fog profile with 450 mm is the correct choice.
Can I mix 11 and 16 coupling sizes on one network?
You can, but most utilities standardise on one size to keep spares inventory down. The U40B uses 11 and the U70BS uses 16.
