How thick should a ski sock be?
Midweight. A ski sock has to add padding at the shin and footbed without changing the volume inside the boot. Our merino ski socks are knitted thick and cushioned in the padded zones and thin elsewhere so boot fit is unaffected.
What height do you knit ski socks to?
Over the calf, tall enough to sit above the boot cuff so the shell never contacts bare skin. The kids styles use the same over-the-calf logic scaled down.
Can you knit a ski sock in a recycled blend?
Our GRS 4.0 scope certificate covers socks and hosiery in recycled post-consumer polyester with elastane and nylon. A recycled ski sock is a development project, so send your target blend and we will confirm feasibility.
Do you handle the pattern and colour work?
Yes. The kids ski socks in our current range carry multi-colour jacquard patterns, and the adult styles use contrast panelling. Send artwork and we will convert it to a knittable pattern.
