Crank reluctor generation, throttle type and transmission control decide whether a standalone loom will run your engine at all.
LS engines split between 24x and 58x crank reluctor generations, and the harnesses are not interchangeable. Ordering the wrong generation produces a no start condition that looks like a dozen other faults. Check the engine year and the ECU part number first.
A drive by wire engine needs the pedal and throttle body circuits, and those are the circuits most commonly missing from a generic swap loom. If your engine has an electronic throttle body, the pedal assembly has to be in the harness specification from the start.
A 4L60E needs its own control circuits. Some builders run a separate controller, others want the circuits in the engine loom. Say which at enquiry stage, because retrofitting them later means opening the loom.
A standalone harness is defined by where the ECU sits. Give the ECU mounting position and the chassis, because the same engine harness in a truck and in an older coupe are different lengths.
A swap loom without documentation is unserviceable two years later. We label circuits to your scheme on request, and that label set is what makes a future diagnosis quick.
