Ordinary mild steel long link chain is a welded chain in 3.2mm to 25.4mm wire diameter, supplied self-colour, electric galvanized or hot dip galvanized. Because the long pitch puts less steel into each metre, it is the lowest cost of the three ordinary link pitches by the metre, and is used for binding, traction, marine assistance and accessories. It is not for heavy or overhead lifting, or for personnel hoisting.
