Adhesive Bonded Panel Mounting
Fix a framed panel to a vehicle or boat roof with no hole through the structure.
The problem
Why This Approach Exists
On a habitation vehicle or a boat, a drilled mounting point is a permanent liability. It has to be sealed on installation, re-sealed over the life of the vehicle, and made good if the panel is ever removed. Bonded mounting removes the hole from the equation entirely.
Method
How It Is Done Step by Step
1 — Choose the bracket set
Corner moulds for a four-point fixing, plus a 180 mm or 530 mm spoiler set where the edges need carrying. Kits pair both in one box.
2 — Dry-fit and mark
Position the panel on the roof and mark every bracket location before any adhesive is opened.
3 — Prepare both faces
Clean and degrease the bracket base and the roof. The bond is only as good as the surface under it.
4 — Apply the adhesive
An ABS-compatible adhesive sealant. For caravan and motor home roofs we name Sikaflex 221 heavy duty bonding sealant.
5 — Bed down and cure
Seat the panel into the brackets, press the assembly down, and let the adhesive cure fully before the vehicle moves.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a bonded mount strong enough for highway speeds?
The bond area and the adhesive carry the load, and the profile is shaped to deflect air rather than stall it. Follow the adhesive manufacturer's cure time before driving.
Can I add mechanical fixings as well?
On the side profiles, yes — all fixing positions are marked on the bracket if you choose to drill. The double-hole cable entry box can also be screwed down for extra security.
Is the adhesive supplied?
No. It is chosen to match your roof material and is sold separately.
Can a bonded panel be removed later?
Yes, by cutting the adhesive bond. It leaves no fastener holes in the roof.
