How We Specify for This Work
Fixed flat as the default
For occasional and weekend use, a fixed flat array is the right trade — nothing to adjust, nothing to forget before pulling away.
Bond rather than drill where possible
Sikaflex 221 heavy duty bonding sealant attaches our flush mount feet to a caravan or motor home without drilling through the roof.
Size the bracket count to the module
Four Z feet per square module up to 85 W; six feet for larger rectangular modules, with one set at each end and one in the middle of the frame rail.
Seal the cable entry properly
Use a bonded IP65 gland box rather than sealant over a bare hole — that is where RV roof leaks usually start.

Frequently Asked Questions
What wind speed do RV roof mounts have to survive?
Panels must withstand 200 km/h — 120 mph — winds while the vehicle is in motion. Driving at highway speeds into a headwind or a strong gust subjects the panels to exactly that.
Should I drill or bond my mounts?
On an RV or motorhome, bond where you can. We recommend Sikaflex 221 heavy duty bonding sealant, which attaches the mounts without any hole through the roof.
How many mounting feet does one panel need?
Four for smaller square modules up to 85 watts. Six for larger rectangular modules — one set at each corner and one set in the middle of the module rail.
Fixed or tilting?
Fixed flat for occasional and weekend use. Tilting only if you park for long periods and are willing to climb up and adjust.
