UQ33 carries an embedded u-blox 7020 GPS chip with GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou support. That is a discrete positioning chip, not a phone-assisted location feature.

The platform is a Nordic nRF52840 with a ROHM KX022 accelerometer and a VC32S optical sensor, paired to a 1.69 inch full touch display and a 350mAh lithium polymer battery quoted at about 7 days.

Sensing covers continuous heart rate, blood oxygen, blood pressure, body temperature and sport mode recognition, with female health tracking, weather, breath training and music control on the software side.

Getting The Best Out Of It

1. Charge for about 3 hours with the magnetic charger before the first outdoor fix.

2. Take the first satellite fix outside with a clear view of the sky; later fixes are faster.

3. Let sport mode recognition run, then confirm the detected activity on the watch.

4. Keep the optical sensor clean; skin oils on the VC32S window degrade heart rate accuracy.
