Cuff style blood pressure watch using a real air pump and airbag rather than an optical estimate

Almost every smart watch on the market estimates blood pressure from an optical pulse signal. This one does not. It carries an air pump and an airbag, so the measurement is oscillometric, the same method a home blood pressure monitor uses.

A 1.7 inch TFT display at 240x280 pixels sits in a metal alloy case built with PC, ABS and medical grade 316 stainless steel.

Alongside the pressure measurement it runs real time heart rate, blood oxygen, breathing rate and body temperature monitoring on an OSRAM 2703 PPG chip and a CT 1711 temperature array, quoted at 7 to 10 days of use.

Use Guide

Getting The Best Out Of It

1. Sit still for five minutes before measuring, with the arm supported at heart height.

2. Wear the strap snug: an airbag that cannot make contact cannot measure.

3. Take readings at the same time each day; comparisons across different times are not meaningful.

4. Allow 3 to 4 hours for a full charge; the pump draws more than an optical sensor.

5. Treat all readings as wellness data. The watch is not a certified diagnostic instrument.
