The two fabrics behave differently after ten washes

Muslin is an open weave. It breathes, it softens with every wash, and it shows its character rather than hiding it. Jersey is knitted, so it stretches, hugs a mattress more tightly and holds printed colour more evenly. The decision usually comes down to which behaviour your customer will describe in a review.

Thread count means something specific

On a woven cotton sheet, thread count describes the weave density. A 200TC cotton sheet is a mid-weight fabric: soft enough for a crib, dense enough to survive a hospital-grade wash cycle. Quoting a thread count on a knitted jersey is meaningless, so if a supplier offers one, ask what they actually measured.

Fitted sheets live or die on pocket depth

The pocket depth, not the sheet size, decides whether a fitted sheet stays on the mattress. A 30cm snug fit covers standard crib and toddler mattresses with room for a protector underneath. Shallow pockets are cheaper in fabric and generate the single most common complaint about crib sheets.

Swaddles and blankets are a different specification

A swaddle is judged on drape and stretch, a blanket on warmth and edge finish, a milestone blanket on print registration. They are not the same product with different dimensions, and quoting them as if they were is how a range ends up inconsistent.

What to send when you ask for a quote

Fabric and composition, thread count if woven, finished size, pocket depth for fitted items, colourway or print file, packaging format, and the destination market. That list is enough to quote without a second round of questions.
