New Product Development
Development here means turning a market idea into a mouldable part with a carton that loads. The honest constraint is that plastic housewares are decided by geometry: nesting, wall thickness and draft decide the cost long before the price negotiation does.
How This Runs Step By Step
The Commercial Detail
- Nesting pitch is designed in at the drawing stage, not discovered at packing
- Wall thickness is set by the use, then checked against cycle time and material cost
- Carton fit is checked against 20FT, 40GP and 40HQ before the tool is cut
- Tool lead time and ownership are stated in writing before you commit
- Approved sample is the reference for every later inspection
- The finished packing specification becomes the published data on the item page
Questions About New Product Development
How long does a new tool take?
It depends on the part. We state the lead time in the tooling quotation before you commit rather than giving a category average.
Can you develop from a 3D file?
Yes. Send the STEP or IGES file and we will come back on mouldability, nesting and carton fit.
What if the part cannot be moulded economically?
We will say so and propose what would have to change. That is cheaper for both of us than cutting a tool that produces an uncompetitive part.
What is your minimum order quantity?
3000 pcs per design per item, and not less than US$5,000 per item. A mixed order of several items is normal and is the usual way a first container is put together.
What are your price terms?
FOB Shantou for orders above 25 CBM. For LCL or FCL below 25 CBM the term is Ex-work Shantou plus handling charge. If you need FOB Shenzhen there is a transport fee of US$600 per container from the factory to Shenzhen port. Quotations are valid for one month.
Start With A Short Brief
Tell us the item, the artwork and the quantity. We will tell you what is possible with existing tooling and what is not.
