Packing And Master Carton Standards
What our standard packing includes, what is charged extra, and why carton changes ripple into your load plan.
The Standard, Stated Plainly
- Inner packing: OPP bag or shrink wrap, without printing
- Master carton: 5-layer corrugated cardboard
- Quantity per carton: to the factory standard for that item, published on the item page
- Included in the quotation: a 1C sticker or a 1C instruction sheet
What Is Charged Additionally
- Printed OPP bags or header bags
- Colour stickers, hang tags and colour instruction sheets
- Changing the quantity or the material of the master carton
- Adding an inner box inside the master carton
These are not hidden costs, they are simply not in the base quotation. Tell us the retail presentation you need at enquiry stage and it will be in the first price rather than the third.
Why A Carton Change Is Never Only A Carton Change
The loading quantity on every item page is calculated from the master carton dimensions and the pieces per carton. Change either and the 20FT, 40GP and 40HQ figures change with them. An inner box that adds 8mm to a carton edge can remove a whole layer from a container. When a carton changes for your order we reissue the loading figures, because a load plan built on a superseded number causes a worse problem than the original change.
Marking
Shipping marks are printed to your specification. Send the mark artwork with the order confirmation rather than after production starts, because cartons are printed ahead of packing.
