Bottom-fill packaging machine forming part of an integrated bulk weighing line
Solution

Bulk Weighing Automation

A weighing system is not one machine. It is a feeder holding a rate, a hopper weigher totalising what passed, a packer closing out the bag and a dust collector keeping the material in the process - all reporting to the same control room. We supply that chain as one engineered set.

The Process

From Requirement to Commissioned Equipment

Stage 1

Map the line

We work through the material path stage by stage and identify where the rate is set, where the total is taken and where material is being lost.

Stage 2

Specify the measurement points

Rate control goes to the feeder, cumulative metering to the hopper weigher, final weight to the packing machine.

Stage 3

Choose the metering mode

Calibratable where the figure must be verifiable, non-calibratable where it is for internal process control.

Stage 4

Select the control tier

Remote Control, Local Economic or Local Touchscreen per station, matched to how the line is actually operated.

Stage 5

Define the host interface

Digital interfaces and command sets are configured so every station accepts host commands and streams real-time measurement data.

Stage 6

Protect the accuracy

Dust capture at charging points, external bearings and dust-resistant housings keep the weighing elements clean, which is what stops long-term drift.

Stage 7

Commission and hand over

Equipment is checked against specification and the technical team supports installation and start-up.

Questions

FAQ About Bulk Weighing Automation

Can you supply only part of the chain?

Yes. Each machine is supplied on its own and integrates through the same digital interface approach.

Will the equipment talk to our existing PLC or SCADA?

The control units include digital communication interfaces and a defined command set for receiving host commands and transmitting real-time measurement data.

What causes weighing accuracy to drift over time?

Dust accumulation in the weighing structure and bearings sitting in the product path are the two common causes. Both are addressed by design here - dust-resistant housings, external bearings and capture at the charging point.
