A two-way ratchet is a different mechanism from the single-direction ratchet on SL-TJ-03. The pawl is reversible, so lowering is a controlled ratcheted descent rather than a release. Under 40,000 lb that difference is the whole safety case.
The screw is 2 inches in diameter, against 1.5 inches on the screw-only SL-TJ-01. A thicker screw under the same load means lower stress in the thread and a column that is less sensitive to side loading if the yard surface is not level.
