Stackable Self-Dumping Hoppers In Light Medium and Heavy Duty
The HOP series is the core of the S&L hopper range: eighteen published models across three duty classes. The duty class is set by the steel gauge, 12 gauge for light duty, 10 for medium and 7 for heavy, and fifteen of the eighteen models stack for storage and shipping.

What This Product Is and Where It Fits
Model codes read directly. HOP-150-MD is a 1-1/2 cubic yard hopper in the medium duty class. The number is the volume in hundredths of a cubic yard and the suffix is the duty.
Steel gauge is the specification that decides service life. 12 gauge light duty suits packaging waste and light offcuts. 10 gauge medium duty handles general plant scrap. 7 gauge heavy duty is for castings, cast iron swarf and anything that is dropped rather than placed.
Stacking is published per model. The 1/4 through 2 cubic yard hoppers stack, which halves the floor space a spare set occupies and makes a container load far more efficient. The 3, 4 and 5 cubic yard heavy duty models do not stack.
Net weights span 385 lb for the smallest heavy duty hopper to 1,605 lb for HOP-500-HD. On the largest sizes the empty weight itself is a meaningful part of the truck's rated load.

Materials
Materials and Finish
Welded steel body in 12, 10 or 7 gauge depending on duty class, on a steel base frame with fork pockets. Painted from the standard colour range.
ManufacturingHow It Is Made
Sheet is cut and formed to the body profile, base frame and fork pockets welded on, the tipping pivot and latch assembled, then the hopper is cleaned and painted.
Quality Control
What Is Checked Before Packing
Gauge, volume, overall dimensions and net weight are checked against the HOP size sheet. Stacking fit is checked on stackable models and the tipping action is function tested.
