Custom Blends Start at the Sample Not at the Purchase Order
Custom work is one of the six lines LSDECO publishes, and several catalogue series began as bespoke development for pool waterlines, spas and accent walls. The projects that go well are the ones where the blend is agreed while the design is still on paper.
How It Actually Runs
Five stages, in the order they happen, with the decisions that belong at each one.
Bring a reference
A photograph, a colour chip, a competitor sample or an existing blend that needs matching. Anything physical beats a description.
Material decision first
Glass, porcelain and ceramic take colour differently. A blend that works in crystal glass may not be reproducible in a glazed ceramic, and it is cheaper to find that out at the reference stage.
Blend proposal
We propose a chip mix — proportions, chip size and sheet layout — based on the reference and on what the series can actually produce.
Sample and revise
A physical sample sheet goes out. Revisions at this stage are normal; revisions after production are not.
Lock the reference
The approved sheet becomes the standard the production run is checked against, and stays on file for later phases.

Custom Colour and Blend Development — Questions
Is there a minimum quantity for a custom blend?
Custom blends are quoted case by case rather than against a standard MOQ, because chip mix and sheet layout drive the cost. Send the reference and the area involved and we will tell you where it sits.
Can you match an existing pool that was tiled years ago?
Sometimes. Send photographs and, if possible, a loose chip. We will say honestly whether a match is realistic or whether a deliberate contrast band is the better answer.
Which materials can be customised?
Glass mosaic gives the widest colour latitude, ceramic allows surface and glaze variation, and porcelain is the most constrained. We will tell you which of the three suits the reference.
