Every Stage And What Can Go Wrong
Nothing here is unique to us as a process. What matters is that the failure at each stage is named and handled before it costs you a reorder.
Artwork Review
Problem: A logo built for screen has hairlines and gradients that cannot survive being struck at 25mm.
How we handle it: We open the file first and say what will and will not hold before quoting, rather than discovering it at the die stage.
Quotation
Problem: Prices that move once the factory sees the real size or colour count make budgeting impossible.
How we handle it: Size, process, colour count, plating and attachment are all priced up front, so the quote reflects the badge you actually described.
Vector Proof
Problem: Buyers approve a picture and receive something subtly different.
How we handle it: The proof is drawn from the outlines the die will be cut from, so what you sign off is what gets struck.
Die Cutting
Problem: A cut die cannot be edited, so a late change means a new die.
How we handle it: The die is only cut after written approval of the proof, and it is kept on file so repeat orders reuse it.
Sampling
Problem: Colour on a screen and colour in fired enamel are not the same thing.
How we handle it: A pre-production sample generally reaches you in 3-5 days, or we send stock samples when you just need to feel the finish.
Production
Problem: Long, vague lead times wreck event and award schedules.
How we handle it: Mass production generally runs 10-15 days after sample approval, and rush orders are accepted against an expedited fee.
Colour And Plating
Problem: Batch two rarely matches batch one when the reference is lost.
How we handle it: The approved colour reference stays with the die, so a reorder is checked against the same target rather than re-mixed by eye.
Packing
Problem: Loose pins in a carton arrive scratched, and hand-outs need to be individually presentable.
How we handle it: Individual poly bags as standard, with pouches, backing cards or boxes when the pin is being given rather than issued.
Despatch
Problem: The wrong carrier turns a 12 day build into a 25 day wait.
How we handle it: FedEx, UPS or DHL chosen against the destination and your date, not against whichever is cheapest that week.

- Any outline cut from your own vector artwork rather than a stock shape
- Hard enamel, soft enamel, die struck, offset printed or silkscreen finishes
- Plating in gold, silver, nickel, black nickel or antique finishes
- Butterfly clutch, rubber clutch, safety pin, magnet or chain attachments
- Backstamps, edge numbering and serial numbering for limited series
- Poly bag, pouch, backing card or presentation box packing
- Mixed orders of pins, coins, medals, keychains and patches on one shipment

How many approvals do I have to give?

Can you hold my die for reorders?

What if my deadline moves forward?
Rush orders are accepted against an expedited fee. Tell us the new date and we will say honestly whether it is reachable.
Can I order pins and patches together?
Yes. Both are made here, so a mixed order is quoted, produced and shipped as one job.
Do you redraw artwork that is not vector?
Yes, when the detail requires it. Send the best version you have and we will tell you what needs redrawing.
What packing comes as standard?
Individual poly bags. Pouches, backing cards and boxes are available when the pin is a gift rather than an issue item.
