How to Work With This Product
- Select molecular weight first, since it sets soft segment flexibility
- Use the hydroxyl value to calculate isocyanate stoichiometry
- Where the part will see warm humid service, specify a low acid value or hydrolysis resistant grade
- Check the melting point before ordering, because waxy solid and granular grades need melting equipment
- For tight batch to batch consistency choose a narrow distribution grade such as 210B, 210N, 220N or 230N
How It Compares
Within the Polyether Polyol category this product is positioned by the numbers in the table above rather than by a marketing claim. Compare NCO content, viscosity, equivalent weight or hydroxyl value against the alternative you are considering, and if the two are close, ask us for both samples and decide on your own line.
Quality and Documentation
Quality control runs across incoming raw materials, production and finished product inspection. A batch certificate of analysis is supplied with every shipment. We are a supply and trading company working with named manufacturers and OEM partners, so certification held by the producing plant is provided on request per grade rather than claimed here as ours.
Customisation
Customised grades and packing formats are available through our OEM partners and specialised manufacturing facilities. Tell us the property you need to move and we will say whether it is a grade change, a packaging change or not possible.
Where This Product Fits In A Wider System
PCL Polyol Questions
Which is the general purpose grade?
PCL 220 at 2000 molecular weight, 53 to 59 mgKOH/g hydroxyl value, acid value 1.0 maximum and a melting point of 45 to 55 degrees C. It is supplied as a waxy solid.
Which grades are hydrolysis resistant?
205H at 530 molecular weight and 220EB at 2000 are both listed as hydrolysis resistant liquid grades.
What is the lowest acid value available?
220CPT at 2000 molecular weight, with acid value 0.05 mgKOH/g maximum and water content 0.02 percent maximum.
Do you have liquid grades at 2000 molecular weight?
Yes. 220EB is a hydrolysis resistant liquid, and the L series grades L220AL and L320AL are liquid at 2000 molecular weight with good elastic recovery and solubility stability.
What is H1P used for?
H1P is the 10000 molecular weight grade supplied as granules, with hydroxyl value 9 to 16 mgKOH/g and a melting point around 60 degrees C, at the most flexible end of the range.
