The Process

Six Steps From Requirement to Delivered Material

This is the sequence we actually work through with a customer, not an idealised diagram.

  1. Define the Exposure

    Interior, exterior, immersion or chemical contact. Exterior and light stable work rules out aromatic hardeners immediately and points at HDI or IPDI chemistry.

  2. Fix the NCO/OH Ratio

    Recommended ratios are 0.9 to 1.1 for HDI biuret grades and 0.9 to 1.2 for HDI trimer grades depending on formulation.

  3. Choose the Supply Form

    Solvent free grades for high solids and low VOC systems; 75 or 90 percent solutions in BA or MPA/X where flow and levelling need help.

  4. Match the Viscosity to the Application

    Spray, roller and brush application each tolerate a different viscosity band. Grade viscosities are stated at 23 or 25 degrees C on every product page.

  5. Validate Pot Life on Your Line

    Pot life depends on polyol type, catalyst, temperature and humidity, so it is confirmed on a sample batch rather than taken from a datasheet.

  6. Lock the Supply

    Once a grade is approved, we quote it in 200 kg drums, 1000 kg IBC or bulk, with a 12 month shelf life under recommended storage.

Do you charge for this technical support?

No. Product selection advice and formulation support are part of supplying the material, based on your application requirements, processing conditions and performance targets.

Can you supply everything in this process from one order?

Yes, where the materials are in our range. That is the main reason buyers consolidate: one purchase order, one packing list, one shipment.

What if none of your grades fit?

We will say so. Customised grades are possible through our OEM partners and specialised manufacturing facilities, and where they are not, we would rather tell you than sell you the nearest thing.

How quickly can we start?

Samples for validation take about 7 days. Mass production is 20-30 days after the deposit is received.

What are the commercial terms?

30% deposit in advance, 70% against a copy of the bill of lading. Bank transfer, Xtransfer or PayPal. All international orders carry a minimum order quantity.
