KV600 Series High Performance Vector Inverter
The heavy-load drive in the KEVAN range - closed-loop vector control, expansion cards and torque at near-zero speed for wire drawing, hoists and extruders.
What the KV600 Is For
The KV600 is KEVAN's high-performance vector inverter for machinery that has to produce torque before it produces speed. It delivers 200% peak torque under closed-loop control, holds a 1:1000 speed range with PG feedback, keeps running with derating when grid voltage sags, and is about 30% smaller than the previous generation.
Key Benefits
- 200% peak torque under closed-loop control turns marginal starts into routine ones.
- Speed range of 1:1000 with PG feedback lets one drive cover creep speed and full production speed.
- Overload capacity of 150% for 1 minute, 180% for 10 seconds and 200% for 0.5 seconds absorbs shock loads.
- Inverter efficiency of 96% or better and a power factor of 0.94 or better with a DC reactor keep running cost down.

Application Scenarios and Buyers
Wire and Cable Machinery Builders
Straight-line wire drawing machines and power pay-off racks where tension control decides scrap rate.
Lifting and Hoisting Equipment Makers
Loads that must be held and started from standstill without rollback.
Plastics, Papermaking and Pulping Plants
Extruders and pulpers that start into a full, viscous load.
Printing, Dyeing and Ceramics Lines
Multi-section lines needing steady speed accuracy across sections.
Metal Products and Machine Tool Plants
Spindles and forming machinery where speed holding under changing load matters.
Petrochemical and Natural Gas Sites
Process equipment on grids that are not always stable.
What Goes Wrong Without It
The Machine Stalls or Trips on Start
Vector control with PG gives 200% rated torque at 0.5Hz, and without PG still gives 150% at 0.5Hz - so a loaded start is a start, not a fault code.
Line Speed Drifts as Load Changes
Steady-state speed accuracy reaches 0.05% of rated synchronous speed with PG feedback, and 2% without, keeping sections in step.
Brownouts Stop Production
When grid voltage is low the KV600 continues to operate with derating rather than shutting the line down.
The Panel Has No Room Left
The KV600 body is about 30% smaller than the previous generation, freeing cabinet space on retrofits.
One Drive Cannot Cover Every Machine
Expansion cards add I/O, communication and encoder feedback, so a single series covers open-loop and closed-loop machines.

Volume about 30% smaller than the previous generation.

How It Compares With the Rest of the Range
How the KV600 sits against the other KEVAN series:
| Against KV100 | The KV100 is open-loop only and aimed at fans, pumps, spindles and conveyors. Move up to the KV600 when you need encoder feedback, 200% torque or expansion cards. |
|---|---|
| Against KV500 | The KV500 is a solar and single-phase-input drive. The KV600 is a grid-powered industrial drive for heavy and precise loads. |
| Against SV13 / SV20 | The SV series is purpose-built for pumping from PV panels. The KV600 is for production machinery. |
Use Guide
- Decide early whether the machine needs PG feedback - the torque and accuracy figures differ substantially between with-PG and without-PG operation.
- Order the encoder card with the drive if closed-loop control is required.
- Fit a DC reactor where power factor matters; the 0.94 figure is quoted with one installed.
- Confirm supply: single-phase 220V 50/60Hz or three-phase 380V 50/60Hz, with voltage unbalance under 3%.
- Size for overload duty, not just rated current, on wire drawing and hoisting duty cycles.
- Run a motor auto-tune before production so low-frequency torque matches the published figures.
