Firmware and Printing Speed

The previous generation ran Marlin firmware at a standard printing speed. The new generation runs Klipper and prints around 30 percent faster, with a speed range of 40 to 120 mm per second against 30 to 80 mm per second before.

Printing Height on the Z Axis

Z axis printing height went from 90 mm to 120 mm. That is 30 mm more return depth available on every letter, which matters when a design calls for a deeper side wall or a larger LED cavity.

Heating Speed

Both the nozzle and the printing bed heat faster. The nozzle reaches 230 degrees from 30 degrees in 40 seconds, and the bed reaches 50 degrees from 30 degrees in 90 seconds. On a workshop printing many short jobs that time is recovered several times a day.

Nozzle Material

The previous generation used a brass nozzle, which is less durable. The new generation fits a black steel nozzle, and five spare steel nozzles are supplied with the machine.

Tracks and Stability

The X and Y axis tracks were strengthened for more precise and more stable printing, and the printing process itself is quieter than the previous generation.

Operation and Monitoring

The separate screen was replaced by an integrated touchscreen, an LED indicator light shows printing status at a glance across the workshop, and a filament dryer keeps the filament in good condition for better printing quality.

Interface Languages

The previous generation offered EN ES FR IT RU and CN. The new generation adds PT DE TR and JP to that list.
