Project Challenge
Reproducing a three colour face conventionally means three cut acrylic panels bonded together, or one panel with two applied vinyl layers. Both routes add bond lines and both age unevenly outdoors.

- Each additional face colour adds a cut panel and a bond line
- Applied vinyl lifts at the edges after a wet season
- Layered faces are difficult to repair once one colour has failed
- Traditional lightbox fabrication is limited to a single face colour
Our Solution
The whole lightbox body was printed in PETG-S with the three face colours produced in the print itself, and built as a frontlit and sidelit unit so it reads both head on and from an angle.
Manufacturing Process
- Artwork prepared in CorelDRAW and exported as DXF
- Colour switch and panel filling parameters set in the Iroga 3D slicing software
- Colour layout checked in 3D Preview before printing
- Printed on a 3D sign printer with three filament rolls installed
- LED strip fitted before the face was closed
Supply Chain Coordination
Machine filament and LED strip all come from one supplier, so the face material and the light inside it are specified together rather than sourced separately.
Quality Control
Colour sequence checked against the approved artwork and the unit lit tested before packing.
Final Result
A three colour frontlit and sidelit lightbox with no bonded acrylic panels and no applied vinyl anywhere in the construction.
