Product Overview
The CRA-700 trims and edges buffing wheels after forming and pressing, handling both small and large diameters. It uses a belt knife system to cut the running face of sisal, cotton, non-woven, and resin-treated fabric wheels. The machine supports two versions: a big version for outer diameters from 150 mm to 600 mm and a small version for 60 mm to 450 mm. One operator runs the machine. It is the final step in the buffing wheel production line: after forming on the CRA-800 or CRA-300, pressing on the CRA-600, and before packaging.
Key Benefits
- One operator replaces multiple hand trimmers on the edge cutting step
- Handles both small (60–450 mm) and large (150–600 mm) buffing wheel sizes
- Belt knife cuts all common materials: soft cotton, resin-treated cotton, non-woven, and hard sisal
- Auto/manual knife sharpening maintains consistent cutting edge without downtime
- Adjustable distance control ensures repeatable edge face width across batches
- Rotating knife belt and adjustable knife rest keep the cut face perpendicular to the wheel
- CE certified machine with stable heavy steel construction for long-term use
Application Scenarios
- A buffing wheel factory replacing hand trimming with automated edge cutting
- A workshop producing both small jewellery buffs and large industrial wheels needing one machine for both
- A manufacturer adding edge trimming to a line that already uses CRA-800 forming and CRA-600 pressing
- A distributor producing custom buff sizes in small batches with repeatable edge quality
Who It Is For
- Buffing and polishing wheel manufacturers
- Metal finishing shops producing their own buffs in volume
- Jewellery and tableware polishing workshops needing consistent edge cuts
- Sawmills or wood board plants using buffing wheels for surface finishing
Problems It Solves
- Hand trimming leads to inconsistent edge width and uneven wear during use
- Manual cutting cannot maintain perpendicularity between the cutting face and wheel surface
- Changing between wheel sizes requires retooling or retraining with no quick adjustment
- Dull knives cause fraying or tearing of fabric, increasing scrap rate
- Lack of automation limits output when scaling up to 5000+ wheels per day
Technical Features
- Belt knife made from imported materials, 3150 mm total length, rotates clockwise
- Knife rest made from alloy-steel plate for rigidity and vertical alignment
- Two motors and adjustment rack for auto/manual knife sharpening
- Adjustable distance control via ruler and handle screw for wheel size setting
- Pneumatic cylinder presses the wheel into the knife during cutting
- Rotary speed controller adjusts cutting speed based on material thickness and hardness

Manufacturing And Process
Step 1
Place the CRA-700 on a level surface and connect to 380 V three-phase power and 0.4 MP air supply
Step 2
Press the START button and confirm the knife belt rotates clockwise
Step 3
Loosen the handle screw beside the ruler and use Forward/Retreat buttons to set the wheel size
Step 4
Use Knife Forward/Retreat buttons to position the knife, then lock the screws
Step 5
Place the formed wheel on the feeder, press the Press button to start the automatic cycle
Step 6
The cylinder presses the wheel, the knife cuts the edge, the machine sets the round count, the wheel retreats, and the cylinder lifts
Step 7
After cutting, remove the finished wheel and prepare the next one

- Inner shaft molds supplied for 80, 130, 180, and 230 mm airway wheel IDs
- Machine can be quoted as part of a CRA-500, CRA-800, CRA-600, CRA-700 production line
Compared With The Alternatives
| Manual edge trimming | Hand trimming is slower, inconsistent in edge width, and requires more labor per wheel |
|---|---|
| CRA-600 Pressing Machine | The CRA-600 compresses the ply stack; the CRA-700 cuts the edge after pressing |
| CRA-500 Bias Cutting Machine | The CRA-500 prepares the bias fabric roll; the CRA-700 trims the finished wheel after forming and pressing |
Use Guide
- Ensure the machine is on a flat, stable surface before power-up
- Check the knife belt rotation direction before starting; it must be clockwise
- Adjust the distance setting using the ruler and handle screw before each size change
- Use the knife sharpening system regularly to maintain clean cuts and reduce material waste
- Set the cutting speed based on material thickness: slower for hard sisal, faster for soft cotton
- Contact us on WhatsApp for the English operation video if the operator is new to edge cutting
