Product Overview
The CRA-500 cuts and rolls fabric into 45 degree diagonal rolls, also known as bias fabric or diagonal grain rolls, for use in airway buffing wheel production. It prepares material for the CRA-800 forming machine or similar. The machine handles fabric rolls and produces consistent bias cuts with a paper tube core. One operator runs the machine. It is the first step in the four-machine line: bias cutting on the CRA-500, forming on the CRA-800, pressing on the CRA-600, and edge trimming on the CRA-700.
Key Benefits
- One operator replaces multiple hand cutters and rollers on the bias fabric preparation step
- Produces consistent 45 degree diagonal fabric rolls for repeatable wheel structure
- Handles both soft untreated fabric and resin treated fabric on the same machine
- Paper tube core size 37 to 37.5 mm inner diameter, thickness above 2 mm
- Cuts and rolls fabric in one pass, reducing material waste and handling
- Control interface and machine language are in English so the operator manual matches the panel
Application Scenarios
- A buffing wheel factory replacing manual bias cutting and rolling with a consistent machine process
- An abrasive manufacturer adding ventilated airway wheels to their product line and needing reliable fabric prep
- A workshop that already runs a CRA-800 forming machine and needs the upstream cutting and rolling step
- A distributor producing their own buffs in house and requiring a stable fabric supply chain
Who It Is For
- Buffing and polishing wheel manufacturers
- Abrasive product makers adding a ventilated wheel range
- Metal finishing groups that consume their own buffs in volume
- Distributors in markets where imported bias fabric has high freight cost
Problems It Solves
- Manual bias cutting leads to inconsistent angles and roll tension, causing folding issues in forming
- Hand rolling varies in ply count and tension, leading to uneven wheel density and shape drift
- Buying pre-cut bias fabric abroad adds freight and lead time to every production run
- Changing fabric width or roll length by hand requires retraining rather than a tooling swap
Technical Features
- Semi-automatic slitting and rolling system with adjustable blade angle for 45 degree bias
- Paper tube core holder with 37 to 37.5 mm inner diameter, thickness above 2 mm
- Roller system with tension control to prevent fabric stretching or wrinkling
- Cutting blade mounted on a guide rail for straight, repeatable cuts
- Roller diameter adjustable to match fabric thickness and roll size
- Control panel with speed and tension settings, language in English

Materials
- Soft untreated cotton fabric
- Resin treated fabric in yellow, blue, green or red
- Sisal cloth and sisal stitched with cloth
- Paper tubes with 37 to 37.5 mm inner diameter, thickness above 2 mm
Manufacturing And Process
Step 1
Feed the fabric roll into the machine with the grain aligned to the 45 degree cutting guide
Step 2
Set the blade angle to 45 degrees and adjust the tension roller for the fabric type
Step 3
Start the machine and guide the fabric through the cutting and rolling section
Step 4
The blade cuts the fabric on the bias while the roller forms a consistent diagonal roll
Step 5
Remove the finished roll and replace with a new paper tube for the next batch
Step 6
Send the bias fabric roll to the CRA-800 forming machine for airway wheel production
Quality Control
- Blade angle checked daily to ensure 45 degree cut consistency
- Sample rolls tested for tension and roll diameter before shipment
- Free sample testing available on the buyer's own fabric before purchase
- Installation and operation training provided so the first production run is supervised
Customization Options
- Voltage and phase configured for the destination market
- Blade angle and tension settings adjusted for different fabric types
- Roller diameter and core size matched to the buyer's existing paper tubes
- Machine can be quoted as part of a CRA-500, CRA-800, CRA-600, CRA-700 line
Compared With The Alternatives
| Semi Automatic Seam Machine for Bias Airway Airflow Buffs Manufacture | The semi automatic seam machine joins fabric ends but does not cut or roll. The CRA-500 cuts and rolls in one step, reducing handling and setup time |
|---|---|
| Full Automatic Fabric Seaming Machine for Airway Airflow Buffs Produce | The full automatic seamer handles fabric joining only. The CRA-500 includes cutting, slitting and rolling, making it the upstream prep machine |
| Manual bias fabric cutting and rolling | Hand cutting requires no capital outlay but produces inconsistent angles, roll tension and waste, and cannot scale to 1200 mm width |
Use Guide
- Ensure the fabric grain is aligned to the 45 degree guide before feeding into the machine
- Adjust the tension roller for soft fabric to prevent stretching and for treated fabric to prevent wrinkling
- Check the blade angle weekly to maintain consistent 45 degree cuts
- Use paper tubes with 37 to 37.5 mm inner diameter and thickness above 2 mm
- Contact us on WhatsApp for the English operation video if the operator is new to bias cutting
