The Two Numbers Every Thread Quotation Should Carry
Most thread problems are not thread problems. They are measurement problems: a cone sold as 3000 yards that runs out early, or a gross weight that hides how much of it is paper. Running our own factory is what lets us publish the two numbers separately and wind to a figure you choose.
Where Orders Go Wrong and What We Do About It
Count Selection
The wrong count is chosen from a catalogue picture and the seam either bulks or opens.
Tell us the operation. 40S/2 for shirting thobe and abaya seams, 20S/2 where the seam takes load, 32S/1 where a single is specified.
Put-Up
A fixed cone length forces a workshop into cone changes it did not plan for.
The same count is wound in several put-ups, and any yardage or net weight can be wound to your own specification.
Cone Type
New cones do not fit the existing racking or the stock system.
Send the cone you use now. The thread is wound onto it instead of onto ours.
Dyeing
A shade approved once cannot be reproduced on the next order.
Colours are dyed to your shade card and the approved reference stays with us for repeats.
Winding and Checking
Yardage claims cannot be verified after the cones arrive.
Yardage is set at winding and the net thread weight and cone weight are quoted separately so you can check a cone on a scale.
Packing
Carton counts differ from the ones the warehouse already books against.
Carton count and carton marks are made to your packing list.

Can you wind a length that is not on your list?
Yes. Any customised weight or length on any cone is acceptable. Tell us the yardage and the cone.
What are the minimums on thread?
15 KG per colour on 40/2 and 25 KG per colour on 20/2.
How do I check the yardage when the goods arrive?
Weigh a full cone and subtract the published cone weight. Because the net thread weight is quoted separately, the arithmetic closes.
