What Happens And What It Prevents
Drawing Review
Tolerances are copied from a previous part and cost money for no reason.
We mark which features actually drive function and quote the rest sensibly.
Material Selection
A grade is specified that is hard to buy locally, so it gets substituted.
We agree the grade and an accepted equivalent in writing before sampling.
Process Route
Prototype methods do not survive production volumes.
Turning, milling, stamping or moulding is chosen for the production quantity, not the sample.
Sampling
Samples are approved on looks alone.
First article samples ship with a dimensional report against your drawing.
Production Control
Quality drifts across a long run.
In-process checks at fixed intervals, with the same fixtures used at sampling.
Packing
Machined faces arrive marked after a long sea leg.
Parts are packed for the journey, not just for the warehouse shelf.

Where does this process start?
With a written specification. Until the requirement is written down, quotations from different factories cannot be compared, because they are not answering the same question.
Do you charge for the sourcing work separately?
Tell us the scope at enquiry and we will be clear about how the commercial arrangement works before any work starts.
What happens if the goods fail inspection?
They do not ship. The problem is raised with the factory in Shanghai, where it costs a fraction of what it costs after the container has sailed.
Can you work with a factory we have already found?
Yes. Inspection, specification control and consolidation can be applied to a supplier you already use.
How long does the process take?
It depends on the product and whether tooling is involved. We confirm a schedule in writing with the quotation rather than quoting a standard lead time.
