Problem: Nobody knows the real cost per parcel of the plastic being used, or which product lines actually need cushioning.
Start from the products that generate damage claims and the products with a finished surface. Those are the lines that justify paper cushioning first.
Choose The Material Format
Problem: Honeycomb wrap, fanfold sheets, crinkle filler and paper cushions all solve different bench problems.
Wrapping fragile items points to honeycomb roll. Filling voids at speed points to fanfold or cushion output. Presentation points to crinkle.
Sample And Drop Test
Problem: A material that works in theory can still fail a courier network.
Run your own product through a full transit test on the chosen format before the machine is ordered, so the specification is proven, not assumed.
Specify The Machine
Problem: A machine built to the wrong paper width or core size will never fit the operation.
The build is set by three figures: your kraft roll width, the core size your dispensers take, and your destination voltage and phase.
Source The Paper Locally
Problem: Importing kraft alongside the machine reintroduces the supply risk you were trying to remove.
These machines run standard kraft roll stock, so paper is normally bought from a mill in your own region.

How long does a switch to paper cushioning take?
The pacing item is usually your own transit testing rather than the machine. Settle the format and prove it on your product first.
Do we need to change the packing bench?
Usually not. Roll wrap and fanfold stacks are designed to sit at an existing bench rather than require a new line.
