Planning A Towel Order Around A 45 Day Lead Time

The published timeline

Samples take 10 days. Production takes 45 days after the order is placed. Sea freight is then whatever your route costs. Those numbers are stable, which means the risk in a towel order sits in the approvals that happen before the clock starts.

Where orders actually slip

Almost always at lab dip and sample approval. A lab dip waiting on your desk for a week is a week off the end of your delivery, not a week off the middle. Naming a person who signs approvals, and a cut-off date for each, removes most of the schedule risk from an order.

Building the schedule backwards

Start from the date the goods must be in your warehouse. Subtract freight. Subtract 45 days for production. Subtract the sample and lab dip window. What remains is your artwork deadline, and it is usually earlier than buyers expect.

Sending artwork with the enquiry

If artwork arrives with the enquiry rather than after the quotation, sampling can start as soon as the specification is agreed. On a tight event or seasonal deadline, that single change often recovers a full week.

Reorders are faster to approve not faster to make

A reorder still takes the 45 day production window, but the approvals collapse because the lab dip and sample reference already exist. Quote reorders from the original order reference so nothing is re-matched from scratch.
