Hyperbaric Chamber Maintenance And Daily Operation
Zippers, filters, seals and gauges - what to check daily, monthly and before every session.
On this page
Before every session
- Check the zipper or door seal along its full length for debris and damage
- Confirm the pressure gauge reads zero before entry
- Check hose connections at both the chamber and the gas unit
- Confirm the emergency release valve is accessible and unobstructed
- Check the mask or cannula and replace consumables that look worn
The zipper is the wear part
On a soft-shell chamber the sealing system does the work a door does on a rigid cabin, and it is the component that decides service life. Keep it clean, do not force it, and do not let it close over fabric or hose. The reinforced triple-zipper and heavy-duty airtight zipper systems are built for repeated daily use, but grit is what kills them.
Filters
The gas unit draws room air, so filter life depends on how clean the room is. In the veterinary OTP500 this is handled explicitly with high-efficiency pet hair filtration and dual inlet and outlet dust filters designed for easy access. In a normal room, a monthly visual check is the sensible interval.
Monthly
- Inspect the chamber envelope or body for wear, abrasion and damage
- Check the frame or air columns for deformation and loose fittings
- Clean the viewing windows with a non-abrasive cleaner
- Verify automatic and manual pressure relief operate as described in the manual
- Check the compressor for unusual noise or vibration
Keep the repair kit where the chamber is
Every soft-shell chamber ships with a repair kit. It is only useful if it is in the room rather than in a store cupboard on another floor. The same goes for the spare hose set.
When to call the factory
Pressure that will not hold, a gauge reading that does not match the control display, or a compressor that changes its note under load. Send a short video over WhatsApp - it is faster than describing a sound in writing, and technical support is provided online for the life of the product.
Buyer questions
Questions On This Topic
How often should the chamber be serviced?
Follow the schedule in the manual supplied with your model. The practical baseline is a pre-session visual check, a monthly inspection of the envelope, seals and relief valves, and immediate contact with the factory for anything pressure-related.
Are spare parts available after the warranty?
Yes. Spare parts supply is offered on an ongoing basis, with lifetime online technical support.
Can I repair a small puncture myself?
A repair kit is supplied for exactly that. Anything involving the zipper, the relief valves or the pressure control system should go through the factory first.
