Questions About CarPlay Box
What does my car need before an adapter will work
The factory head unit must already support wired CarPlay and follow the CarPlay protocol. The adapter converts that wired connection into a wireless one, it cannot add CarPlay to a car that never had it.
What is the difference between an adapter and an AI box
An adapter makes existing CarPlay wireless and nothing else. An AI box adds a complete Android system with its own CPU, RAM and storage, so it can run navigation, video and streaming apps on the car screen.
Which shell material should I choose
ABS is lighter and cheaper, from 6 g on the Q1BD. Aluminium alloy with glass adds weight and perceived value and helps with heat, which matters in hot climates and long drives.
Do you supply firmware updates
Yes. The AI box models support online upgrades, and adapter firmware is supplied to distributors when a revision is released.
