The Q1AS is the 2 in 1 adapter designed around heat. Its aluminium alloy and glass shell carries a ventilation hole, which is a deliberate answer to the thermal complaints that sealed plastic dongles generate in hot climates. At 14 g on the V851S CPU with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0, it is also the lightest metal-bodied adapter in the line.

Against the Q1A, which uses the same aluminium and glass construction, the Q1AS swaps the colourful light for a ventilation hole and saves three grams. No. Both share the model letters and the V851S CPU, but the 3 in 1 version adds Android Mirrorlink or iPhone AirPlay and weighs 17 g. This 2 in 1 is 14 g.
Does the ventilation hole let water in
It is an in-cabin product and should be treated as such. Keep it out of direct rain through an open window or sunroof.
