Why The Power Supply Is The First Check
When a CO2 machine stops producing light, the fault usually sits with the tube or the MYJG power supply. Testing the supply first prevents buying a new tube when the electronics are the actual problem. The MYJG unit is known for high efficiency and excellent power stability, providing the high voltage needed to energize the laser tube.
Preparing The Machine For Measurement
Install the laser tube into the machine, even if you suspect it is damaged. The circuit must be closed for the supply to register current. Turn on the main electricity. The MYJG power supply display will show L 0, indicating the unit is receiving power and is ready for the pulse test.
Running The Pulse Current Test
Press Pulse on the laser machine panel to send a signal through the supply. Observe the current value displayed on the power supply unit. The MYJG supply features a user-friendly control interface that allows operators to monitor this output directly. This step isolates whether the supply is generating the necessary high voltage.
Reading The Values For A Reci W2 Tube
Set your laser power to 80 percent. A normal current value on the power supply should be approximately 25 mA. Next, set your laser power to 50 percent. The normal current value should drop to approximately 10 mA. These figures apply specifically when testing with a Reci W2 laser tube.
Interpreting The Results
If your test result is near the normal values, your CO2 laser source and power supply are functioning correctly. If the current does not reach these levels, the power supply is likely damaged and needs replacement.
