The Four Line Footprints
The published working areas differ more than most buyers expect. A profile spraying machine line needs 6 by 18 m and a minimum of 70 kW. An automatic inert coating line is the same: 6 by 18 m and 70 kW. An automatic roller coater line needs 6 by 20 m and a minimum of 120 kW. A full automatic spraying line needs 8 by 45 m and a minimum of 200 kW. That last figure is the one that catches people out, because 45 m of clear run is a building decision, not a machine decision.
Match Crew Size To The Line
The profile spraying line, the inert coating line and the automatic spraying line each run with three operators. The roller coater line needs three to five. The automatic spraying line is the one with the clearest labour case: the whole line replaces 8 to 12 painting workers.
Line Speed Sets Everything Downstream
The spray and inert lines run at 12 to 20 m per minute. The full automatic spraying line runs slower at 3 to 6 m per minute because the paint has to flash off between stations. When you size the UV dryer, the lamp count follows the line speed, which is why the dryers are built with one, two, three, four or six lamps rather than as a single model.
Check The Building First
Layout design is done before a line is quoted, against your actual building. A line that will not fit is not a machine problem that gets solved at commissioning. It is worth measuring clear height, column positions and the position of your electrical supply before the first drawing, because those three things decide the layout more than anything on the machine list.
