What This Model Is For

Backlighting changes what the mirror does to the room. Instead of throwing light at the face from a frosted band, HQ003 throws it backwards onto the wall, so the mirror appears to float and the bathroom reads larger.

The construction is the same as the rest of the frameless range: 5mm silver glass, safety backing, powder coated aluminium body and UL listed or CE certified electrical parts. Only the light direction changes.

5mm environmental silver mirror with a fingerprint-proof frosted panel. No copper and no lead in the coating, so the silver edge does not creep or corrode in a wet bathroom.
Shatter Proof Safety Backing
Safety backing film is bonded to the rear of the glass, so a broken mirror stays in one piece instead of falling into a guest bathroom.
Powder Coated Anti Rust Frame
Strong powder coating adhesion on the aluminium body. The coating does not flake off the metal and the metal does not rust.
Structural Bonding

Use Guide

Installing and Living With It

Check the wall finish behind the mirror; backlighting shows up an uneven or patchy surface that a front lit mirror would hide.
Allow the drawing gap between the mirror back and the wall so the glow spreads evenly.
Fix the wall plate, connect the driver, then hang and secure the mirror.
Set the dimmer level at commissioning with the room lights off, which is how the guest will normally see it.

Is a backlit mirror bright enough for shaving and make-up?

Backlighting is ambient rather than task light. Where the bathroom has no other vanity light, a front lit model such as HQ001 or HQ002 is the better choice.
