Importing Apparel From China A Practical Checklist
The paperwork and logistics side, in the order you will actually meet it.
Before you order
Agree the garment specification, the size ratio, the labelling and the packaging in writing. Confirm incoterms and who books the freight. Check whether your market requires specific fibre content or care labelling.
Payment and documents
Payment terms on our orders run through T/T, L/C, D/A and D/P. You will need the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading or air waybill for customs.
Freight
Air freight is about 12 days and suits a first order or a reorder against a deadline. Sea freight is about 30 days and is the default for volume.
At the border and after
If customs holds a shipment, the supplier who shipped it can usually resolve it faster than you can. We track shipments to arrival and help release goods that get held.
