Choosing Swimwear Fabric That Survives A Season
Polyamide, polyester and elastane behave differently in chlorine, salt water and sun.

Polyamide and elastane: the comfort route
An 80 percent polyamide with 20 percent elastane blend gives the soft hand and the recovery most fashion swimwear is built on. It is the standard blend across our one-piece and bikini programmes.
Polyester blends: the durability route
Polyester and nylon blends hold up better against chlorine, which matters for pool use and for anything sold as sport swim. Several of our styles specify anti-chlorine and anti-UV finishes for exactly this reason.
Gram weight is the number to check
Swim fabric is specified in grams: 140 gram cloth is light and drapes, 220 gram cloth holds shape and is more opaque when wet. Both are legitimate; ordering one and receiving the other is not.
Test before you commit
Stretch the sample against a light source and check opacity. Then wash it. Most swim problems that reach customers were visible in the first sample.
