What The Rockwool Fire-Wall Cold Room Panels Does
Rockwool (stone wool) sandwich panels are non-combustible (A2 fire rating, Euroclass A2-s1,d0) and used where building codes require fire-wall separations between cold storage halls, ammonia plant rooms, and high-occupancy areas. The rockwool core also provides excellent acoustic insulation — STC 35-42 depending on thickness.
Howcool's rockwool panels use high-density 100-120 kg/m³ rockwool core fully bonded to pre-painted galvanised steel facings. Thicknesses 100-200 mm. Suitable for cold room walls, partition walls between processing rooms, and ceiling assemblies in food processing facilities. Slightly higher thermal conductivity than PU/PIR — λ = 0.040 W/(m·K) — but excellent for non-cold applications where fire rating is the primary driver.
