Blast Freezer & Low-Temp Panels
Heavy-thickness panels for blast freezers, IQF rooms and ultra-low-temperature applications down to −40°C.
- −40°C Service · 150-250mm Thick
What The Blast Freezer & Low-Temp Panels Does
Blast freezer and ultra-low-temperature panels are engineered for service down to −40°C — extra insulation thickness (150-250 mm), high-density PIR or PU core, and reinforced vapour barriers prevent moisture migration through the panel. Required for blast freezers, IQF tunnel freezers, plate freezers, and pharmaceutical −80°C storage (with additional vacuum-insulated panel option).
Howcool builds these panels with extra-thick PIR core (45 kg/m³) and aluminium foil vapour barrier laminated to the warm side. The cold side has standard pre-painted steel. Thermal bridging is eliminated by using a fully-recessed cam-lock joint with double EPDM gasket. Standard thicknesses 150, 175, 200, 250 mm — engineered for 30+ year service life at −40°C.

Why Buyers Choose This Model
−40°C Service Rating
Engineered for continuous service at −40°C. Vapour barrier prevents moisture migration that would degrade insulation.
Extra-Thick Insulation
150-250 mm panels deliver U-value 0.10-0.15 W/(m²·K). Energy consumption 30-40% lower than thinner panels at the same temperature.
Double-Gasket Joint
Two EPDM gaskets at each joint create a thermal break and prevent vapour migration. Essential for ultra-low-temp service.
30-Year Service Life
PIR-based panels with proper vapour barrier do not lose insulation value over time. Verified by destructive testing on 20-year-old installations.
Cold Room Panels Failure Modes
Heat ingress that never stops
Polyurethane panels with low thermal conductivity in thicknesses from 50 to 200 mm; on our Jeddah design, 150 mm cut summer heat ingress by over 40% against 100 mm.
Fire compliance
PIR fire-rated and rockwool fire-wall panels for sites where the insulation core has to meet building fire codes.
Frost heave under the slab
Embossed aluminium floor panels and insulated floor build-ups with anti-frost-heave heating for freezer rooms.
