What The Plug-in Modular EPS Panels Does
Plug-in modular cold room panels with EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) core and tongue-and-groove joints offer a cost-effective option for smaller commercial cold rooms — restaurant walk-ins, supermarket back-rooms, butcher shops, small pharma storage. EPS has slightly higher thermal conductivity than PU (λ = 0.035 vs 0.022 W/m·K) but costs 30-40% less.
Howcool's EPS panels use 100-150 kg/m³ high-density EPS core with pre-painted steel facings on both sides. Standard thicknesses 60, 75, 100 mm — suitable for service temperatures down to −20°C. Tongue-and-groove joints with EPDM gasket; a DIY crew can assemble a 20 m² walk-in in 1 day. Not recommended for blast freezers or applications below −20°C.
