Stainless Steel and Engineering Plastics Motor Body
A stainless steel motor body with engineering plastics end caps, for boats that live in salt water and for shafts whose oil seal needs changing in the field.
What It Is
This is a body option rather than a separate drive. The housing is stainless steel with engineering plastics caps, specified by Caroute for high-corrosive and high-salt environments — the service most likely to eat an aluminium housing over a season.
The second change is serviceability: the propeller shaft's oil sealer is designed to be changed more easily on this body than on the standard one. The body is listed as applicable to the Caroute N, W, S and E platforms.
