What It Is and What It Does
Two fully waterproof, IP65-rated cable glands mounted in a plastic box, ideal for passing cables through vehicle, shed and caravan roofs neatly and securely. One box, one bond, one hole in the roof — instead of two separate penetrations for the positive and negative legs of the same array.
The body of the unit is secured to the surface using a suitable sealant and can be screwed down for extra security. Once the sealant is dry the cables are passed through the glands and the lockrings tightened to form a waterproof seal. One practical limit worth knowing before you specify it: these boxes should not be walked on, so they are not recommended for boat decks or narrowboat roofs.

What It Is Made From
A moulded plastic box carrying two IP65 cable glands. The gland bodies do the sealing on the cable, the box does the sealing on the roof, and the lockrings provide the strain relief that keeps mechanical load off the cable entry itself.

How to Fit It
Step 1
Mark a position clear of any walkway on the roof.
Step 2
Drill for the cables and degrease the surrounding surface.
Step 3
Bond the box down with a suitable sealant; add screws if extra security is wanted.
Step 4
Let the sealant dry fully before passing cable through.
Step 5
Pass the cables through the glands and tighten the lockrings to seal.

What is the ingress rating?
Both glands are IP65 rated.
Can I stand on it when working on the roof?
No. These boxes should not be walked on, which is why they are not recommended for boat decks or narrowboat roofs.
Do I have to screw it down?
Not necessarily. The body is secured with sealant and can be screwed down for extra security if the application calls for it.
What if I only need one cable through it?
Fit the cable you need and leave the second gland closed. The white version of this box ships with a cap for exactly that case.
