They Solve The Same Job Two Ways

Both a pendant station and a radio set close the same contactor coils in the same panel. The difference is where the operator stands. A pendant keeps them on the end of a cable under the crane; a radio set lets them stand up to 100 metres away where the load is actually visible.

When A Pendant Is The Right Answer

A wired station has no batteries, no pairing and nothing to lose. Yellow ABS or thermoplastic enclosures, contacts rated 5A or 10A at 500VAC, mechanical interlock and an emergency stop mushroom that cuts power directly. Button counts run from 2 to 20 in single or double speed, so a pendant matches the motion list exactly and costs less than a radio set.

When Radio Pays For Itself

Radio wins when the cable snags on structure, when the hook is hidden from the fixed pendant position, when one operator has to run more than one machine, or when a cable and plug keep failing in a wet or dusty bay. Over 4.3 billion unique ID codes across 80 channels mean a transmitter only answers its own receiver, so two cranes can share a bay.

Environment Decides The Enclosure

Pendant stations are supplied at IP54 for dry indoor halls and IP65 for rainproof duty, with a working temperature of -45 to 55 C. F21 series radio sets are rated IP65 and -35 to +85 C. State whether the bay is indoor, outdoor, washed down or dusty and the rating follows from that.

You Can Run Both On One Machine

Keeping the pendant as a backup and adding a radio receiver is common. The pendant stays wired to the panel and the radio receiver lands on the same contactor terminals, so a flat battery never stops the crane.
